“Song For Burma” (5:40)
1. In the heart of darkness, I see a message
Beyond pain and terror, it sets me free
In a quiet voice, a call for Freedom
From an ancient, troubled land, a woman speaks Calling, calling, calling for the world to hear
2. As a nation trembles, a spirit rises
From a house with prison walls, a hope takes flight. Though her words are few, they roar like thunder. And the hungry and the banished feel their might. Hoping, hoping, hoping for an end to fear.
3. The nights grow longer, more hearts are broken. The flowers in the jungle cannot bloom. And the fields of tea are left to plunder. The songs that filled the nights have lost their tune. Grieving. grieving, grieving for the loved ones gone.
4. Still a woman watches, her dream unfaded. In her eyes there gleams a power that survives. While her captor's lies spread unabated. Still they fear the truth that time is on her side. Waiting, waiting, waiting for the sun to rise
