A song from Barbara’s new concert: “MY CANADA – Singing the Soul of a Country”
One of my favourite Canadian singer/songwriters is Joni Mitchell. I recorded her best-known song recently with a group of great musicians. Jennifer Bell plays a rich sax solo. “Birds on a Wire” string quartet sound lush and wonderful. The remarkable Fraser Hollins plays bass. And my good friend and accompanist, Doug Balfour who arranged the song with elegance, plays piano. We did the recording in September, 2015 at Boutique de Son in Montreal with the incomparable George Doxas at the engineering helm. Thank you to all of you!
